Sheep FAQ
Q. Are all these items really hand-made?
A. Yep.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept PayPal, cash, check, and money order, although we really don't recommend sending cash. If you must, fold it up and wrap it in tinfoil to confound post office x-ray machines. Also, for cash, checks, or money orders we suggest writing a short letter or note on a sheet of paper and folding it around the payment so it's not obvious what you're sending.
All items paid for by check will be held until the check has cleared your bank and the money is in our account. No offense meant, honest, but we've got to cover our butts on this one.
Q. Do you ship internationally?
A. Sure do! Contact us for a price quote.
Q. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
A. What do you mean? An African or European swallow?
Q. European, smart aleck.
A. Roughly 11 meters per second. (source: http://www.style.org/unladenswallow/)
Q. What about African?
A. Unfortunately, not enough data is known about the African swallow to make even a roughly accurate calculation of its average airspeed. (source: http://www.style.org/unladenswallow/)
Q. Seriously? Handmade? Everything?
A. Yep. We buy blank stock of things like glass and paper, but all printing, etching, drawing, sculpting, painting, needlework, worry dolls, etc. are done by us.
Q. Where do babies come from?
A. Go ask your parents.
Q. Do you take commissions?
A. Absolutely! Prices are listed on the commissions page.
Q. Are there any limitations on commissions?
A. This is on the commissions page, too, but I’ll go over it again here. If we’d have to ask for your ID, we won’t do a commission of it. Also, we don’t do yaoi or yuri. You’re welcome to your preferences, but none of us are comfortable with it. Sorry! Other than that, send us a message!
Q. Do you have any tutorials available?
A. Not yet, but we’re working on some.
Q. Right, so all that glass is hand etched? I don’t buy it.
A. Oh, for the love of... look, if you stop by a convention Pam’s at she’ll probably be at the table etching. She'd just make a YouTube video of it, but none of the Sheep have a camcorder.
Q. Why is the sky blue?
A. You can click here for the long answer, but the short answer is different colors of light travel on different wavelengths. Long wavelengths, like red and yellow, pass right through the gas molecules in the atmosphere. Short wavelengths, like blue and violet, get absorbed and scattered by the molecules, sending blue light to our eyes.
Q. Viva la Oxford comma!
A. That wasn’t a question.
Q. Viva la Oxford comma?
A. Viva la Oxford comma!
Q. What is an Oxford comma?
A. When you have three or more items in a list, they’re usually separated by commas with "and" before the last item. You can put a comma before the "and" or you can leave it out; both are considered grammatically correct. "I have apples, bananas, and oranges," and "I have apples, bananas and oranges," are both fine as long as you stay consistent in your document. If you put the comma in, like the first example, that’s an Oxford comma.
Q. Do you guys have a deviantArt account?
A. While we don’t have a group or collective account, each of the sheep has their own dA account.

Q. What about Facebook? Do you have a Facebook page?
A. Yes, indeedy. Click here to be taken to it. You know you want to.
Q. Yeah, Facebook's good, but all the cool kids have Twitter. Are you cool?
A. Heck yeah we're cool! @vikingsheep, baby.
Q. You got any bear claws?
A. Wait a minute, I’ll go check.

Q. Where did you get the name "Viking Sheep"?
A. Honest to goodness, this is the real answer. Before the redesign of the It’s a Small World ride at Disneyland there was a mural just before you entered the tunnel that had a bunch of animals on it. On the mural there was a Viking longboat with sheep in it. We thought it was hilarious and went with it as our name.
Q. Who’s the leader of the club that’s made for you and me?
A. V-I-K-I-N-G S-H-E-E-P! |
